Michele, if our weather up here doesn't cool down soon, our daylilies will be catching up in size to yours, lol.

It was 85 here again today. This makes about 10 days now that we've had about the same temp. We're running about 15 degrees above normal for days and nights. Sorry Cary. I bet this summer we'll be wanting some of your cool weather.

blessings to all, Mona

Temps are THIRTY degrees above normal here, and have been for 2 weeks now. I heard somewhere that we have set at least 10 record highs during this period - and it isn't ending yet. Even though temps are supposed to begin to cool down, even that will just be moderation - and not truly back to our averages.

My daylilies are loving it, with the majority of them, even last years seedlings, already sprouting. Everything is a month early here, which probably means that even my lates (so I can have flowers in late August and early September) will probably be done blooming by mid- July this year. Which for me is sad.

I had to uncover everything, and am hoping we don't get a major freeze any more. I also hope that summer doesn't arrive early, and that it's normal - with normal temps, normal moisture, normal normal normal. I HATE temps above 90 degrees, and am dreading a hot summer with prolonged high temps.

Fred, very pretty flower. Hopefully you can "fix" the plant habit. And Michelle, I love that orange one of James Hall. It really glows. Previously I was into reds, now the oranges & purples are catching my eye. ~Jan

Same here Jan. I looked at pictures of Tink's seedlings in Florida and my daylilies now look as large as hers. Very unusual for that to happen at the same time.

Had two more yesterday, two in one day, things are picking up. It's suppose to storm today so I will try to get the photos early if any are blooming. I hope everyone starts posting their seedlings here pretty soon, we need to see everyones, not just mine. None ot these first blooms have great form, these are both 18 months old.

I'm still getting a few seeds germinating from my 2011 seeds that I planted between 1/13/12 and 1./29/12. I'll update records today since it's raining and I'm staying inside. From the looks of things we got about 3-4" of rain last night and this morning. My pots willl love this God given rain. It contains elements that my faucet water does not!!!

I'll post later on the progress of my seedlings. I'm really amazed that I'm still getting a few to germinate since I have those darn fungus gnats fighting for my seeds. some of the seeds have been in wet soil for 65 days or more. I'm noticing a pattern with these seeds. The ones planted in the clear(opaque) 12oz cups are not having the problems with the gnats that the seeds planted in the 18oz solid red cups. I think the dark, bigger cups are staying wetter and probably cooler and the gnats love this. I've decided that I'll use the 12oz cups from now own.,

Here's another seedling of James Hall. This is the second bloom on it. I didn't like the first bloom photo because the slugs have been nibbling as you can see on the left upper corner on this one. He says the blooms will be more the hose-in-hose double later on. This bloom is probably 7"

O, This is soooo pretty Michele!! I'm not a nut on doubles but I do find that I like the hose in hose style. This one sure is nice. I'd love to have this. Maybe it will get introduces!!!

I now have 725 seedling growing. Oh me, 725 that's a lot of work, did you hear the sigh???? I'm about to get more to do than any 3 people can do and I'm only equal to about 1/3 of one person, so I'm behind before I even start! Confused Confused

Oh well, I'll survive, now if my plants can live another few years on maybys and around-to-its, we'll all be great!!!

Have a great night and blessings to all, Mona

Have had the computer unpluged last night and most of the today because of the weather. Only got 1.25" of rain which is enough, a lot of areas north of us got much more. I did go out and get three seedlings before the hard stuff got them, had five blooming but did not have enough time to get the other two before the bottem fell out. This first one is the best so far, and it's red which is something new for me. I have not done a lot of reds in the pass. This is 6+ inchs on a 7 month seedling. WALTER KENNEDY X SEEDLING HB42

I'm with Michele, I like the first one too.

We had the rain yesterday. I'd say probably 4" or more. It has been beauitful today. Around 75 and of course the wind blew all day long. It's getting really close to April and maybe by then the wind will settle down.

I hope ya'll get more blooms after the rain. I'm needing my daily dose of color.

Thanks and blessings, Mona
