I LOVE Fast Forward. Your iris pix are stunning.

I had Fast Forward planted in the ground where it was clay soil, it didn't do much, so last year, I moved it to my raised garden. It did really well there and bloomed good for me this year. I was so happy to see it. So many of the intermediates won't bloom well here, not enough winter to make them happy. Bloom is going to be sparse this year, especially with the talls, not many stalks at all.

We have clay so I wont have high expectations for my first year plants.

Beautiful way to welcome Spring! Country Dance is striking. My reticulata Iris this year were so early I missed them until they were almost gone. Will have to start watching for the SDB's. May be soon as early as things are.

And I see you're already getting TB blooms now -- excellent! I don't see nearly as many stalks out there in my iris beds as I'd like, unfortunately. And I think I saw in one of these threads where you said something similar. I sure hope this isn't going to be an "off year" for us!

They need to put a "green with envy figure" at the bottom of the page for me to use as I see these gorgeous iris. Mine be a least a month before they start. Maybe I'll just use the green grin in its place.

Paul, I hear ya with the green with envy thing. I'm just a few days away from having one of my little iris open, Shindig, can't wait, and pussy toes is not far behind. The TB's are a longer way off, I just had my first tulips open and some daffs, and a couple of pasque flowers, so I have a little color starting.

Dot, I really like Ballycastle, They're all great, but remember when your's are all done blooming, ours will just be going strong. lol. Reminds me of my sisters when we were young, I'd gulp my Ice cream cone, and my sisters would eat slow and rub it in that they still had some left! The good thing is we can share the joy with pictures on here. Tom

Dot, every one is drop-dead gorgeous. I couldn't pick a favorite because each one I view is my favorite. Great photography.

Wow, great blooms but I especially LOVE that Imperative with the dark color and that pop of an orange beard! And Explicit is my kind of bloom too, I am fond of the deep rich mostly warm colors. Although that soft Fashion Designer is a real beauty!

Funny that you mentioned Ballycastle. I thought I had lost it, as I do so many intermediates here. It was growing just behind another clump and looks like it has 2 little fans besides the stalk. I will move it after it blooms. Apparently it is not going to be vigorous here, but maybe I can see it bloom occasionally. As soon as it is light enough I have a few more pictures to take.

Sue, you will be happy to know that Imperative has the whole clump blooming this morning. It has made quite a large clump out there.

I used to be sad when my irises quit blooming, it is so hard to lose all that color. I love looking out the back door and seeing all my babies. But now that I grow daylilies also, my season is extended.

My doctor told me yesterday that he has a few irises, he is such a sweetheart, I told him I would dig him some and take them to the office. He was surprised to learn that I had named varieties. I will take him my favorite and most reliable ones.
