I have to reapply for another permit for every type of plant and USDA is dragging there feet!! I still waiting on my seeds i ordered 1 month ago!!! not sure what is going on with that either keep eye open for new interest thread.

Mike,

Don't overextend yourself - either with your time or with finances. I didn't realize that you had to obtain a new permit for each type of plant and you are juggling enough. You are already performing a wonderful service here. I don't want to ruin a good thing by pushing it too far.

Hey Mike.
If it's still available, I'll take that 3 cuttings for $10 deal - -

ASSUMING it can be a summer deck plant and come indoors for the winter.
If not, let me know ad I'll pick something else.

Yes i still have the white pudica 3 for 10 they have been planted mater of

fact they all have and they might have some roots (horrible right) they might not if they do i will try to protect them as much as possible i have been giving a free small plant with every purchase mostly orchids any kind or bromilliads if your interested?

i have seeds if you like to try those but you have to wait 3-5 years for bloom.
Pudica should be fine as long as it gets plenty of light and in winter if you try to keep it from going dorm it it needs to get light and be carefull about over watering it they use so much less water then. Unless you have next to a radiator (i almost forgot what those where) If you like you can ask Hetty for her advise on keeping in side and not letting them go dorm it she would know better then me!

ill put you on spread sheet and these are quite tall so there will be plenty of room in box for something else

i am looking into more adeniums and seeds also there are request for hoyas, i think im getting gardenias (small ones) butterfly bushes. lavender, and crown of thorns (adeniums and crown of thorns from Thailand) if your interested and maybe passion fruit?

ok i have done a little bit of checking and i assume you are looking for "different" or Thai hybrids: there are about 75 different ones at between my suppliers. on of the suppliers is going to be a bit $$ due to the shipping will run 150-350 depending how many plants go in the box. I do have the necessary permit to import any plant not on the "list cites" which is a fancy way of saying endangered and invasive or host to crop killing pests. the ones we have talked about are NOT on the list.
with all that said what is the time frame everyone is willing to wait? cheaper ones and not as many options will be at least july im being told maybe after that there is a problem with supply coming out of Thailand after last years floods. the one more $$ could have in 2 weeks from date i pay for the order.

i am willing to do a lot of the leg work and import the plants BUT i can not put all the money up front for all the plants. i am doing an interest thread on some but any ideas on colors like there is 6 different reds? and small or large plants. this can be a combined co-op and share shipping cost with people that want adeniums which will be good saves a lot of money. give me a few ideas going to have a bite to eat post a few pics and then work on interest thread

My suggestion on the Crown of Thorns:
we want the Thai Hybrids. These are larger growing plants with thicker stems, and bigger blooms than the commonly available reds from the Big Box stores. These blooms are about the size of a quarter.
Here are some pictures ( I have these)

m

EDITED TO READ SHIPPING MIGHT BE ABOUT 5,50 PER PLANT

Gald you still have the 3fer and EXCELLENT about the 'free' extra plant.

I'd love to have a white phalenopsis or any dark flowering bromeliad (I don't do pastels, but whatever else ya got would be a good introduction to bromeliads for me).

I'd keep the phal and the bromeliad indoors 12 months, not try to put them outside for summer.

Inside for the winter, I do have a small (3x3) south facing window to keep whatever plants I bring inside. I DID learn by trial and error that some plants NEED to go dormant to reenergize. Most notably my salvia 'black and blue', which made a lovely foliage plant the first winter I had it inside but did NOT bloom the following summer. Now I keep plants like that in the basement (on the way to the laundry room) with scant water and no light. The year after I did that, my salvia bloomed quite nicely.

ANyway, thanks for the co-op and for being so willing to educate!

:D

I'll wait to see what happens then!

HA!

ANd aboutthat phalenopsis - - - - I hate pink. Sorry to be picky, but I really do. ANY phal you have that has no pink on it at all will be fine. (I love yellow...) It will be my first orchid so I want to start with a phal. Been to a couple of talks lately and I do know how to care for it. It's reputedly the "easiest" orchid for beginners.

I'm with you critter, I HATE pink, you will find very few plants in my that have pink in them, and all of those are ones that were given to me.

I agree on the phal. My first was a 'Just add Ice' talk about easy, once a week put 3 ice cubes on the 'dirt' and that's it. When I add food to it, I make a gallon pot of it and pour into 3 ice cube slots then water the orchid. Easy peasy! Then I designate an ice cube try and fill it with the food and freeze it for another time. Or for one of my other orchids. It seems to work on all of them. Just remember that they hate sitting in any kind of water.

Oh my goodness. I came back to this thread specifically to request pink. No kidding. My whole yard is in pink, blue, white, lime green and occasional red. I just can't do yellow or orange, and very little red. Isn't that funny how we are all so different. That's what makes the world go round. (I also hate red mulch - reminds me of all of our gas stations.. and tags left on trees. Ugh!)

I especially like the Siam Ruby: http://www.wanapluk.com/euphor...

and, oh my gosh, the gorgeous pinks here: http://www.wanapluk.com/plant-...

I really appreciate a beautiful garden in any color though!

Hello all more traffic then ive seen in a while here just wish it was everyone asking to buy some of my plants Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

OK This is how i am going to work the next co-op with these crown of thorns. i need to find out about importing them due to most plants imported to the USA have to be bare root no leaves and no flowers....to me that is fine with some things I dont know how that will work with these plants. I am going to try to combine with a shipment of adeniums. this will save money on shipping.

I WILL HAVE TO ASK FOR SOME OR ALL THE MONEY UPFRONT TO FUND THIS ORDER JUST LIKE NORMAL CO-OPS. sorry I dont think i can pay for the full shipment with my own money. there are different sizes of these i am guessing the bigger plant the better? I am starting an interest thread so i need real feedback and likes -dislikes-how many- then i will decide if a co-op will work. I will also be running a adenium co-op at the same time (i think) and i will combine payments shipping and if people want plumeria this will also remain open. If Wil dosnt take away my computer first Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

if your still reading good for you thanks and in return im going to start a game for anyone that has posted here or been in any of my co-ops you can guess only one time and dont go over!!!! you all have seen some of my pics that i have taken and some one said how great they where the other day how many pics on my camera as of right now???
Hint#1 it has a removable flash card of 1 GB and it is not full
Hint #2 the first one was taken about 8/16/2011 (i say about because as someone pointed out the other day that i was posting pics from the future) i have to set the date and time when i charge the battery and i dont always know what date it is Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
Hint #3 ALL of the pics have not been posted or downloaded to my computer.
WINNER gets ??????? choice of prizes i will list later
game ends at 3:00pm EST 04/19/2012

good luck and look for the interest thread!!!

Mango, I think it depends on how much the elders forced it on you when you were young. I only had a mild dislike for it until my 20s.

Robyn - I don't want a scrap of it around so as not to make someone think I like it because I fear they'll give me more!

Robyn - both of the orchid talks I attended said the ice cube thing was dangerous because of the COLD. But if yours are acclimated to it, I wouldn't change a thing. I plan to air grow mine, with a quick dip each morning into warm water. It must dry out before night.
