I really like Liriope muscari 'Variegata'. This is so easy to grow, you can use it for borders, soil erosion, or just to fill an empty spot. Great color along with darker greens and blues. It does not get big and is not fussy about soil or water. In my zone it is semi-evergreen.

For sure Bob, you can not go wrong with the green one, they seem to thrive on neglect.

Wow, Seems like everyone around here calls it Monkey Grass. It multiplies pretty fast in my zone so if you have one you have ten. Have you ever divided yours?

That's great, I love dividing mine. I feel like I'm getting free plants.

For some reason I have'n taken a liking to the mondo grass, Does it work as well as the monkey grass, looks bigger? Guess most people think a grass is a grass is a grass.

We also had a ton of it when we moved here and got rid of most of it.

Oh, I wanted more, I put what I had around the corner garden. I put Hosta's in the other bed.

Mondo grass is somewhat smaller and finer. There is a really dark browny purple-black variety, too, which I love. But it needs water and, mindful of conservation, I usually save the extra attention for annuals like geraniums.

So nice to finally know the name of this plant : I see them planted along our walkways here in our development, but I never knew their name. The ones over here are variegated ones and I do love the purple flowers
