Is it possible Dave? to get a notification when we get a thumbs up?

You are notified via your profile. You can periodically go to your profile and click on your received thumbs. The list of thumbs you've received is sorted by date so your newest thumbs appear on the top.

And see? once again Dave has anticipated our wishes

Dave, sometimes I see I have received a thumbs up and I can't figure out what it is for.

It will say it is for "A contribution made by sandnsea2" .

What is it?

Can it be described or pointed to in some fashion?

Janice, I've seen that too and figured out what it is. Example: I made a data entry for a clematis that has 3 cultivar names, and the moderator gives athumbs up to the most commonly used name so it shows up first, I get the "A contribution made by goldfinch4" message.

I wonder if the message can say exactly what it is for?

There are many areas where you could receive a thumb. If the system can't immediately tell where the area is, it will give your the generic message, calling it "a contribution".

But if you click on it, it will take you to the actual contribution and you'll see what it is.

Cancel that last post I made. I see what you are all talking about now. Let me see what I can do.

Okay, I have added a few more items to that list. Prior, thumbs to cultivar names, as well as a few other small areas, were not being shown.

It may always happen that there will be "miscellaneous" thumbs because there are so many areas where thumbs can be given. If you have one that is confusing you, let me know so I can look into it!
