Hi all,
I'm redoing and spreading out an older daylily bed which got overcrowded and I've found that over time I've lost a lot of my little Liz Salter daylilies. I'm hoping to find replacements for them, if I can. Where is the best place to find these? A few of f these I can't find for sale anywhere. I won't know what's missing until they bloom this year since they all grew together, but I used to have:
morrie otte ,
sea siren,
true blue heart
dragon dreams
sacred circle
spirit weaver
wee wizard
little love bug
regency charade
circle of secrets

Are you a member of the AHS robin? If so, try putting a "looking for" notice on the Bulletin Board.

Good Luck on your search!

You might try the Eureka Daylily Reference Guide if you have access to one.

Morrie Otte and True Blue Heart never did well in my climate so I sent them south a couple of years ago. I do have Dragon Dreams but probably not enough to part with any but I will check.

Many are tender.

Beautiful, but tender. Beware. You are in a cold winter zone.

That could be why some disappeared the first winter and others haven't multiplied hardly at all. I know I have some left and will post pictures for identification for those that bloom. Since they could only be one of those mentioned above, identification shouldn't be hard.

I've had some other E. Salter daylilies do well.
Teller Of Tales has always done reasonably well for me and so has Dragon's Eye and Spell Fire.

But because of my zone, I purchased a lot of Siloams, which do very well here.

I'm not a member of the AHS so probably can't do the AHS round robin, but am aware of the daylily auction site.

If anyone knows of E. Salter daylilies that do well in colder zones, please let me know. They are so pretty.

Thanks!

Fred has a good idea in seeing if Eureka has them listed. I have not bought a Eureka for many years, so any info in mine will be out of date.

Thanks, I will investigate the Eureka.

Goblin Moon is another E. Salter that has done well for me. I've gotten interesting offspring from it too.

Here's a picture of one of my unlabeled little E. Salter daylilies that was still alive last year. It's going to be one of those listed in my first post. Hopefully somebody can narrow it down for me. Regency Charade seems to come closest, but I'm still not going to say for sure. There's so few pictures on the web to compare with.

That is a pretty one. She sure does have some pretty little ones but they don't do well here. It seems like a lot of the bluer daylilies struggle here too. I purchased a bluer looking one last year from Labertson. It made it through our winter so hopefully it will be ok.

I have Tet. Dragon Dreams, but it just hangs on here in PA. Blue eyed things from the south seem to have a hard time with the northern climate.

I have a seedling from Mystical Rainbow X Tet. Dragon Dreams that looks alot like Dragon Dreams, only it's a dormant and is hardy here in PA. I may introduce it. I should send some of it to those of you in the upper upper north to trial for awhile.

Edited to add: On second thought, I guess it doesn't look much like Dragon Dreams. It has the form, but not the colors.

Hemlady,
I've had Mystical Rainbow for years and it does quite well for me. I've posted pictures of my blooms of it in the database. Sometimes the eye gets very interesting:

Siloam David Kirchhoff is another pretty little one with a bluish eye that does well for me, as do all the siloams.

Thanks Sherry. I would like to cross it with Get Jiggy to see if any different eyezones will occur.
