Hi Michele, That's a beauty for sure. I hope it multiplies a bunch so I can buy one this fall!!

Oh, congratulations for being the AHS winner of the day. I haven't see any of the media offerings, but I looked over the list and they do look interesting. Have fun, Mona

These ones I have posted are James Hall's. I might actually have one bloom in the next day or two, FERN STONE. Some of my scapes for some reason are super short with hardly any buds. The ones that are like this are the ones that the fans went wacky for some reason. The fans decided to split anywhere from 3-5 fans but they shrank as well. I'll have to take a photo tomorrow and show you what I'm talking about. Some look like they are just seedlings.

Heres a couple of photos of the daylilies with the short scapes and the fans that have shrank and split that I was talking about. If you click to enlarge them you can see it better

Here's one with the fans that have shrank but divided.

If you notice the larger fan in the back to the left, the small fans in the front used to be one fan like the one in the back. It decided to split into 5-6 fans and shrink.

Hi Michele, I have some that have done the same thing. They were HUGE fans last fall. Then they died down with the cold weather. When they came back, they were just like yours. From 3 - 6 little fans instead of the one big one. I'm laying this off on the alfalfa pellets. Mine of course don't have scapes yet, and they are growing, but I don't think they will bloom this year. I got quite a few that have done this, maybe 10% give or take either way. Mine aren't new seedling, they were mature plants that have done this. Were yours grown plants are seedlings(as in babies)? Yours really look strange with the scapes coming from them. I won't know for several weeks if mine will have scapes. If so, we may know that the alfalfa pellets caused this. Another thing, did you use the pellets dry or as tea??? I used dry.

I'd like to see these if you let them bloom.
Thanks Mona
