We had a wonderful time yesterday and today at Longwood Garden. The Orchid show was probably the best ever, truly and it is still ongoing until tomorrow. The conservatory looks even better in bright sunshine as viewed through the lens, today was however a cloudy day, but the plantings never looked more splendid with tall Echiums and many other gorgeous blooms. I took lots of pictures, hopefully you will view it with me simply as the eye candy it is.
The vendor area was much better set up this year, a very large tent housed all vendors right next to the parking lot. One did not have to pay the entrance fee to Longwood Garden to go Orchid shopping.
Ok, that's it .
Btw we thought the Ghost Orchid stole the Show! Such an accomplishment to get this one to bloom!
Carol, thanks.
We thought everyone outdid themselves this year! We loved it! And since the weather was warmer than usual, the grounds had already some pretty Spring plantings too.
Yes, sort of. They made huge columns with Phals right and left at that door with a wide Orchid swath above it, and there was the gorgeous Phal arch and other very showy Orchid spheres and a few more gigantic Orchid pieces, (as THOSE in my first picture). It is always amazing how perfect these plants are.
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.
