Simply stunning. I am getting a few talls now also. Blooms are scarce this year on the talls for me, just not enough winter this year.

Greg I checked the garden & we do have 'Foreign Storm'. I have not been to the spot where 'comma' might be.

No Greg, in addition to buried labels I have a map of every plant in those three beds, so that wasn't it . I was unsure whether it was hybridized by Mike Sutton or by his dad George. I think it was Mike. My first TB bloom of the spring is always special to me, and I'm thinking that about half of the time it's SNOW MELT -- or one of the yellows: GOLDEN ROAD, FOREVER GOLD or PLEASANT PEASANT. But I'm not seeing a ton of stalks/buds this year, unfortunately...

Betty is this early for you as well to have blooms at the end of march from what I have been reading most of the country is way early so Im just wondering if this is your normal start for the bloom season.

We're maybe just a little ahead, like a week or two at most -- I'd say more like a week ahead. And we've had some much needed rain this month too, I'm pleased to say. We'll still be in a drought status, but our 1.25" of rain this month helps. We only get about 5"-6" of rain annually here anyway, and I'd guess that now we're about 1.5" behind. But who knows -- this rain last weekend may have been out last rain until next fall/winter here. And they're keeping our Isabella Dam up the river at something like only 24% capacity now, since they discovered it's leaking and the earthquake fault that runs underneath it is active again. Oh happy day!

Hopefully it improves for you it always seems like a few showers will really make them start to come on fast, Im looking forward to all your pictures this year and wondering how the weather is in Oregon if they are ahead of schedule like the rest of us or if it has been a normal spring
