You made me curious Terese- I had to go check on my Joe Pye. It does have a few tiny shoots showing up! Mine is also "Little Joe".

I saved seeds from mine, not even knowing if "Little Joe" produces viable seeds. I wintersowed them, but only have one seedling so far. I imagine if they grow, they'll be taller, rather than dwarf like Little Joe.

I'm editing as I see the discussion on Joe Pye weed is not part of the echinacea coneflower thread anymore so my question is
irrelevant now.

Yours probably will show up very soon, Marilyn. After all, we're almost neighbors. Smiling Mine wasn't visible until today, and what's there are a few tiny shoots.

Hope so Karen. Thumbs up

I just happened to be looking where the JPW is, while weeding and noticed there was only the dead stem sticks from last year. Smiling

Have faith. After all, it is still March. We just feel like it should be June because the weather has been so warm. I'll bet yours will show up within a few days.

Karen,

i went back out and found that tag reads "Chocolate Joe" -- but growth nonetheless.

I'm not sure i have any more seeds.. i had the worst time germinating them... tried for years, and last year got the CHoc.Joe...

though i do recall my first year WS'ing, I got germination, but not sure what happened to the plant... whether it died... but never did see it in the flower bed.

Marylin, I too have the 'dead stem stick' with the Choc. Joe, and the new growth is beside it... as Karen said... Have Faith.
