Well, I made it to check on my seedlings. They are ok, I think, maybe a little too much water. They are under a huge old oak tree, so it kept some of the rain off them. It would have been good for them if the trays I have them in had drain holes, but alas, they don't. So, I had to stand outside in the rain, a warm rain at that, and pour the water out of the trays(about 4 inches) slowly so as not to turn the cups upside down. I got a nice shower while doing this. It only took about a minute apiece but then I had to tote the heavy, water laden, things back into the greenhouse. Once inside, I took a small cup and dipped the most of the water out. A turkey baster finished off the rest of the water.I'm sure they will be more as the water drains out of the cups. I've been taking this group in and out of the GH this past week trying to get them used to the outside world. I'll be potting them up into gallon pots soon.
Yes, we needed this rain too, but we got about 4 inches in around 6 hours. It was really nice though, just a steady good shower. When I finished and went back inside, I had to change clothes, I was like a soaked puppy. Speaking of puppy, my old dog, Conrad, just had to go out with me and he was pitiful!! David dried him while I dried myself. Afterward we all got busy washing clothes. I managed to get chilled alittle bit, so I wrapped up in my favorite recliner to get warm around 1pm and the next thing I knew, it was 4pm. First nap I've taken in months. When I have a little fever, it just saps me. I sure do feel better.
Michele, I just saw a weather map. The rain is getting close to you, I think. Maybe ya'll get some too.
Wow, snow, it seems plum strange but I'm sure we could still get some. I remember in 1989(I think) we had snow on my father-in-laws birthday, April 18th. Huge flakes fell for about 2 hours but nothing stuck. It was beautiful. Tickled the old man(yeah old man, he was 64 and that's not old anymore!!!)
The dryer just called my name. I hope everyone is having a great day. Mona
