I always justified using rabbit poop on the garden because Rab was vegetarian just like me.

My interpretation of 'vegan' would not preclude using animal manures on the garden. Interesting alternative interpretation, though.

XP should work. The courses (silverlight) play just fine on both of my Macs as well. Whatever you end up doing...the NC state course is worth it. And free is a very good price.

I keep trying to figure out how to sign up and for the life of me, I can't. I will keep at it as the course titles look really great.

We aren't at this time Vegan/vegetarian -- just moving in that direction. plus you can do that without growing your own food although the people out in the valley (Matanuska) have wonderful farms and could easily sustain themselves with their own crops. It is the direction we would like to go.

Never thought about using animal manure as being counter to being vegan.....

Mary...there should be no signing up necessary. That link *should* take you to the list of class sessions within the course. Should look something like this:

Yup. And then I choose a lecture and I get the FBI thing, I have loaded the software they mention and can look at the list of slides, but I can't get it to show the slides in lecture form. Course, my monitor (flatscreen) cratered on me and I lost my speakers with it. So I guess I need to resolve that first. Sigh. Seems like learning something always involves learning fourteen other things first.

Yeah. I have access to the lectures now. I must have not installed the software needed correctly the first (of many) attempts. Neat. I will begin watching. And Yes, much cheaper than $800 even if it isn't hands on with field trips. On the other hand I can see them any time I want with coffee in hand. Thanks so much for your help and persistence in helping me overcome my problem.
