I am trying to add Showy stonecrop Postmans Pride to the database.
I believe the genus( listed as such on the other website ) is, Hylotelephium
I need help getting this plant listed,no botany skills.

Hi Jo Ann.
Moussouri Botanical garden lists this plant as Hylotelephium telephium (Atropurpureum Group) 'Postman's Pride'. http://www.missouribotanicalga...

However, apparently genus Hylotelephium is being changed to genus Sedum which is what we're doing here on ATP. So:

Genus - Sedum
Species - telephium
Cultivar - Postman's Pride (no quotes as the system adds those).
Synonym - Hylotelephium telephium (no cv. name).

Hope this helps. Here a thread where the Sedum/Hylotelephium was discussed. The thread "Hylotelephium telephium vs. Sedum telephium" in Plant Database forum

I am greatfull for those of you who take up the slack where us amatures are concerned.
I have a image of this sedum now and will resend others when the plant matures in June. Thats all I want to do.
Sometimes I wait to load images after someone else has listed the plant.

If spelled correctly - Hylotelephium Postman's Pride- it will give you Sedum 'Postman's Pride'. So a search either way will come up with the plant, because the Hylotelephium is entered as a synonym. Thumbs up

I usually just enter the cultivar name to check and see if it's entered into the database. Try Postman's Pride and it should come up.

Stonecrop (Hylotelephium telephium subsp. telephium 'Postman's Pride')
And is that really the proper placement for the PP number? With the cultivar name? That don't look right. Glare

Jo Ann and Lynn,
Is the PP16,831 part of the cv. name or a patent number?

Great minds?
Evan

I just used your link Sue, I don't see a number? But that does sound like a patent number.
