HAWAIIAN RAIN - TB, Randy Squires - One of my very favorite irises, but it normally blooms mid-season. Amazing -- It's practically the only one out there! And the deeper blue color is more correct than the others -- hard to capture with my camera.

I ordered Hawaiian Rain because of your pictures. I'm glad to see that it was a good choice. I may have to check into Line Drive but I've already ordered to many.

Paul, the only negative about HAWAIIAN RAIN that I can think of is that there are probably not that many buds per stalk, and maybe it's a stingy bloomer compared to other irises, but the gorgeous flowers with fantastic substance and bright beards totally make up for that in my eyes. Also, I believe Randy Squires lists it at something like 35" tall, but when my two plants really took off the stalks turned out to be about the tallest I have -- taller than THAT'S ALL FOLKS, which is right next to it. So keep in mind that it will probably end up a tall one if it grows for you like it does for me. I think it is one breathtaking iris and I wouldn't give it up for anything!

And wouldn't you know they're predicting WIND for this afternoon, so I'm having to go out and stake all my taller stalks before I leave in a couple of hours. This always seems to happen to me every year now when I get some tall beauties about to open!

Betty- That is not "Roxanne". Roxanne is a TB by Merle Roberts and has mulberry coloration. Your picture seems to be "Roz"; which is indeed an IB of Sterlings! Still pretty though.

I got Roz last year and hope it will bloom this year. Still don't have Dumbledore yet, but expect to get it this year.

Must say as well that "Line Drive" is fantastic. I have seen this cultivar in person and it is very distinct.

Thank you, Greg! I guess I just have that Sting song "Roxanne" on the brain today, or something. I went back and changed it. And I love the striping on LINE DRIVE -- it's become one of my very favorite IB's now.
