Here's the April thread - the weather is playing us all for fools, cold and wet now that's it's spring.

Am still painting. At least the "right" paint covered up the "wrong" stuff I put on last Friday and one coat will take care of it.

We were going to "rearrage" the living room and put the new TV along the purple wall. Not gonna work.........there will be a hellish glare from the west on the screen, plus the floor isn't level (why am I not surprised in this house????). Everything will be where it has been. And that is ok, not bothering me nearly as much as it is him. So be it.

Nice out today, but possibility of rain in the next couple days. We'll see.

With ours, we are limited by cable and windows. Everything moves but the tv. This house is mostly level, but then it is only 57 years old, so one would expect it to be level.

It's been a lovely day, but cool. My elder granddaughter was here helping rearrange the plant room so there's room for me, plants, fabric painting stuff and everything else. She's coming back tomorrow to help with some outside stuff.

I will have the grands on Thurs. and Friday since there is no school this week. Church is having a bake sale Friday morning. I had an idea...............I'd make some rolled cookie dough, and the grands can cut out and frost some Easter cookies (hoping to find a egg shaped cutter). We'll plate them up for the bake sale and put a little note on them that they were made by either Austin or Aleigh, with a little help from Gramma. And I'll put their ages on too. They love to help. With that kind of help, I probably won't get ANYTHING baked. Green Grin!

Off to finish washing the last wall. I have some of the trim painting done for the living room. Be glad when it is all DONE!!!!!!

And a Happy Easter to all of you from sunny Wisconsin.

Off to my mom's after church. I'm making my cheese bread and yesterday made a deep dish strawberry/rhubarb pie. Yum.

So, after last week's run of frosts, this week it has decided to snow. We had 4 inches in the yard earlier - Stan was out with his tape measure, then it snowed some more. This is by no means a record April snow, but after basically no snow and summer time temps in March, it seems a bit like a slap in the face.

Stan is out working on his three point hitch backhoe. One of the cylinders has stripped its threads. More fun and games.

We went to a meeting on the Dairy Farm Business Summary that we filled out earlier. there were only two other farms there, kind of disappointing turn-out. Stan was pleasantly surprised by our numbers, we had a better year than he had thought.

Here is the corner with the new TV. The lavender shows up pretty decent. The TV was on, nothing wrong with the screen. LOL

Stan got the oats planted this week and they have had a nice, gentle rain. Tomorrow is to be chilly and grey and Monday they are calling for 'significant snow' in the upper elevations (us). yippee. What hasn't been slammed by the frosts will go with the snow. I bought pansies Wednesday, but haven't got them planted yet, although they would probably be ok with the snow. I'll just bring them in for the weekend and try again next week.

The plan for today was to move some heifers over to my brother's, but Stan has decided to wait. If the rain clears off, he may go to a machinery auction. A friend has sold his farm to an Amish family and has a lot of large equipment to get rid of. Stan isn't really looking for anything, but thought he might go anyway - and you never know what you'll find.

I'll be shredding pastures for the next few days. I need to keep the weeds clipped off so that what grass was not killed last summer can make a comeback. The "improved pastures" - Bermuda/Bahia grass- are going to be okay but the native pastures are not so certain.

Well, it's snowing. We've had a couple of inches since around 4:30 and it's falling at a pretty regular clip. I'm not sure that it's going to be as scary as the weather people have been saying, but we'll get a goodly amount before it's thorough. The next school over is having a snow day just because they haven't had any this year.
