I thought I entered my info but it didn't save. What step did I miss after entering my name and location?

In the screen where you do your changes, scroll down and click the 'Save Your Changes' button.

ThAnis everyone for the welcome. Here's another silly question: how do I return to the home page? I have it bookmarked but sheesh shouldn't there be a button at the top that says "home"? Maybe it's written in invisible pixels?

Just click on the title All things Plants at the top

You can get back "home" by either:

Clicking on "All Things Plants" in the upper left hand corner of your screen

or

Clicking on "All Things Plants Homepage" at the bottom of your screen
