Hi,

Alot of my iris are starting to bud & some are blooming. What is the best way
to tag them ? I want to " Try " to remember what colors they are when we move LOL

We use metal tags with p-touch labels. When you move pop each clump into a sandwich bag & write the name with marker on the outside.

The sandwich bag with it's named marked on is a great idea, Lucy. Thanks.

If you had a huge assortment of markers, you could even mark the color on the bag, matching it up to the iris. And then you can find kids to play with all the markers you have left.

If you are wanting to do by color and do not know the names, then get yarn in many colors (go to garage sales) and put the red on reddish ones, pink on pink, white on white.

Hope this helps as this is what we did for a friend, she never saved names and now they need to be replanted so at bloom last year we marked them with the yard and she was able with help to get them in a pleasing palette for her taste

If it's not going to be long until you move, you can write on them with a black marker. Write on the center fan because the fan you write on will eventualy grow off and die. I write on mine with markers when I ship them.
