The welcoming committee either sends the acorns themselves, and I reimburse them, or they tell me about it, and I send them out. I'm happy to do with with the membership at large as well!

Or perhaps allowing each new member to choose one badge they are interested in, to get them started.

And once they have one badge, they'll be motivated to collect acorns to get more.

I am totally in favor of the badge idea.

I think the badge idea for newcomers is great. I did find it a little more difficult to get started here than on daves garden because I think it's harder to see posts from people with no acorns, may of my posts went unnoticed at first. When I say hey don't ignore me Hetty felt sorry for me and gave me acorns. I felt so welcome and included after that.

I think that's a good idea.

Ok, I've set it up so that every new members gets 5 acorns just for signing up.

How do you delete a profile? I signed up through Facebook and it took along much more of my Facebook info than I thought i was giving permission for. I want to delete this profile and start over.

You can click on your user name here in your post above or click on 'My Profile' at the very top and from there click on the "Change your public profile" to make any edits. Unless you want to change your name completely, then you should probably use the 'Contact' link at the very bottom.
