Those two are both yummy colors. Looks like the flowers are large too.

Ohh, they are gorgeous! I like the shot on the steps showing the whole blooms.

Talking about Floofy Orchids -
I lifted the floof-scale from the Orchidsource forum:
--
For those needing a refresher on the floof designations, here they are:

-20 to 0 - WOnderfully Weird (WOW/FJS)
1 to 20 - Nary a Floof (NAF/FJS)
21 to 40 - Decidedly UNfloofy (DUN/FJS)
41 to 60 - Touch of Floof (TOF/FJS)
61 to 80 - DEcidedly Floofy (DEF/FJS)
81 to 100 - Floofy, Fluffy, Flouncy, and Frou-frou (FFFF /FJS)
101 to 120 - Above and BeyOnd Floof (ABOF / FJS)

--

And for those needing a refresher on the floof score categories, here they are:

Color (20 points): a monotone flower would get zilch in this category, a five-colored-splash-petaled-floofy-monstrosity would get 20.
Ruffle (20 points): are edges of sepals/petals ruffly?
Fringe (20 points): 0 points for no fringe, 20 points for something like Rhyncholaelia (Brassavola) digbyana
Petals (20 points): are petals highly crowded/overlapping or simply crowd out the light like a "dinnerplate" vanda? If so, give that puppy 20 points.
Doodaflatchies (20 points): other odd protuberances or parts of the flower not covered by fringe or ruffle.
Discretionary: (+- 20 points) add (or subtract) up to 20 points to weight the floof score more in the direction that you want. If you're a LOF (lover of floof), you can add points for things like "texture, balance, overall prettiness". If you're a HOF (hater of floof), you can subtract up to 20 points for things such as "weirdness, ugliness, plainness", etc. NOTE: this can also be used to weight a score the opposite of your floof preference to help something more line up with your gut feeling as to its floof level.

(Floof Scale created by OrchidSource members including Fiona,Lynne, and others.)

I just looked at the April Fooly thread - very nice posts!

Kathy, about the Laelia lundii x Epi. longipetalum, could it be Thrip damage or something like that?
I have a C loddigesii which bloomed damaged like that a few months ago. I separated it from the Orchids and if it repeat-blooms like that, it has to go. I really hope not.

Janice, I just looked at my Lc Irene Finney 'Springs Best'. It was really warm and sunny here the last couple of days, 3 spikes broke through the sheaths in much accelerated fashion and 1 spike broke off right away on its own. I would highly recommend staking them before the buds open. I was not happy just now.

Ursula, I am so sorry about your Ms Finney.
Thanks for the tip. The one spike/stalk has 4 flower buds on it and it is looking really heavy, so I will stake it. She is one amazon lady.
I guess she did not mind being repotted a few months ago. I put her in a big heavy pot with bark medium to get her out of the boulders from SBOE.
Does she usually have multiple bud on one stalk?

I think I must like Floofy Orchids. Also spotty, Kinky ones. Guess it will take awhile to decide what my tastes are. Here's Dendrobium Nora Takunaga. It reminds me of one of those very beautiful young women with bangs that are just too long and hide part of their faces.

Jonna, I don't like floofy but I couldn't stop sighing over the color! And in the end I scooped all the ones that were in bloom in sunset colors.
Susan, just get Nora to grow! You will have tons of flowers if you do.

Kathy, I'm with you on the sunset colors, and I'm always facinated by the way some of them change colors as they mature.
