Saturday I dug up Stella and it had 2 scapes. Just unheard of this early here. Yesterday it was snowing and raining so if anything else was sending up early scapes they may be mush now. Lyle send me Spacecoast Cotton Candy and it sent up 3 scapes after it got here so I broke all but 1 off and a seedling he sent had 2 so broke all but 1 off. I am sure neither will make it to bloom now as they were just too far along.

Uh oh, Woofie, you are in trouble now!

And there IS room for daylilies and iris - although I learned the hard way not to mix them. DL like moister conditions, iris prefer to be dryer. Rita terraces her garden, and mixes them that way - I might do that in the future. But my DL & Iris are much happier being in their own separate beds. ~Jan

My only option is raised beds or containers, and Iris don't seem to do well in containers (here at least Hilarious! ). We have an area that I want to terrace, but if that happens, I'm putting roses there! Green Grin!

Oh good Cindy. After many days of rain, we finally got some sunshine. Seems the daylilies want both. Hilarious!

Claudia, that's a very nice ffo on IG.
Lisa, Love that bloom, the form, color and green throat... just everything about it. Is it a small flower or large? Do you know it's name?

Joy, here's Jim Murphy's description from their website:

BEFORE
(Murphy 2011) 16” EE 6” Dormant diploid Unusual Form Cascade

This plant starts blooming before all daylilies except three in our garden, and is in full bloom when Stella starts. It is a pink and cream bitone cascade with green throat. Note, this is a large flower, not your more typical small extra early. It is nocturnal, opening at midnight and closing around 7pm the next day. Gorgeous blue green foliage, 3 branches, 18 buds. Pollen fertile. Out of PINK RAIN DANCE by unknown.

Little Surfer Girl opened! It is a mini I got a few weeks ago from Floyd Cove- and it shouldn't have rebloomed - at least not when it was in the 40's last night, and only got up to a chilly 50ish today. It hasn't fully opened, and may not - but it's got a few more buds on it. I snapped a photo with my cell phone because my camera got left in Nodak Whistling but if I can figure out how to upload the photo to cyberspace, I will try to post it later.

This little girl even beat my Stella blooming - and Stella has wisely decided to wait because it is just too cold here right now. ~Jan

Oooh, I think I purchased FLAVA, finally and it is in bloom. A wholesale plant place used to sell NON FLAVA and I called them on it for several years. (it was gold)

Yesterday's puchase of 2 plants will get planted here and I'll see if it spreads (another sign of FLAVA)

It is tall and yellow, but since I can't smell, I can't tell if it is lemonlily! They are two weeks ahead of my bloom season on everything.

BTW, this company sprays with Heritage and I have never seen any signs of rust there. Thank goodness other nurseries are puchasing non rusting daylilies.

Here so far, only NADA and a species or little gold varmint has bloomed.

EDIT - helper sniffed for me. Said it smelled like Lily of the Valley!
