Carol that's why I mount most of my phals-no medium!
Here's the second, V. Urbchitr x V. Queen of Thailand. I believe it is a red with lighter color on the top petals.

Look who opened a flower today. Den. tetragonum var. giganteum. It always surprises me. Ursula does yours have a bloom period or is it intermittent like this one? I got home late and took a pic in very little light.

The floofy velvet one is wonderful. No wonder you couldn't pass it up.

Carol, do you grow your Phals in PrimeAgra? I have been transplanting a number of my orchids into it and using the semi-hydroponic pots. So far, no one seems too unhappy about the change.

Dendrobium aggregatum ( lindleyi) - this is the plant I had posted before to show the size of the growths. ( Laurel?)
At that point the plant was just starting to spike.
Here it is now showing off 8 spikes!!

The plant looks a lot more "3D -ish" than my pictures show. I have it now hanging downstairs to enjoy the blooms.

But - here is a picture taken on the deck with flash.

The second of my Lc Irene Finneys opened this week.
This is 'Chicago' and it is perfumed just as lovely as the 'Springs Best' I posted last month.

3 spikes on this one!
The blooms are actually a little more pink than my pictures show.
Floofy enough?

What a stunning display on Dendrobium aggregatum ( lindleyi). Do you have any idea how old that plant is?

oncidium ornithorhynchum is such a feminine looking one. I really like it too. Problem is, I like the all and my room is limited.

Here is Oda Hot Pants 'Hot to Trot'. It has been blooming every since it arrived and still has new buds developing. The blooms look a lot like Carol's Odcdm catante Pacific Sun Spots.

This is the NOID phal that was my first orchid. I've had it blooming at work for 2 months and decided it was time to bring it home and repot it. The roots didn't look all that bad for a Walmart plant. I cut off a few. Here it is after being repotted.

Nice.

Susan, regarding the Den aggregatum - I bought it somewhere around 2003 or 2004 ( from Andy's Orchids) I am glad you like it! Smiling
I posted the plant in the beginning of April when I just noticed it spiking, so you can see what it looks like without spikes. (I had then pulled it out to measure it for Laurel).
http://cubits.org/orchids/thre...

You are supposed to not water at all for about 6 weeks starting Thanksgiving and then soak the plant really well and start watering to get it to bloom. This never works for me, my greenhouse is very sunny ( the plant was hanging on the South facing wall right on the glass) and well ventilated, it would probably dry out too much if I did that. I had watered the plant daily! In previous years I only got sporadic spikes, finally this year it REALLY bloomed. I am very happy!!

Ursula, the aggregatum is truly fantastic. The close up looks Asian to me. Very beautiful floof too. Does it have a great scent?

Susan, you are doing well with Oda Hot Pants and the repotted phal. And great ones from orchids.com! I've always been partial to Baldan's Kaleidoscope and Bro Lawrence, too!
