Great stuff Ursula. Especially love the luteola! No sign of buds on mine. When you have a chance, these would be great in the database! Carol, love the Firedance x!!!!!

I agree on the Lc Firedance x Nodosa. Wonderful colors. Cattleya luteola is so pretty too.

Here is the first of the 2 buds on Blc. Pratum Green 'Bonserm' to open. I was expecting it to open more gradually, but it seemed to just pop out over night. Smells so nice.

Wow. Glad I didn't hafta ship it!! White beauty! Wait till all those buds are open! And Blc. Pratum Green 'Bonserm' is gorgeous. How big are the flowers? Big plant or compact? You should definitely put that one into the database! Just finished fertilizing. Always makes me feel like I've really accomplished something already!

'Bonserm' or 'Boonserm' is about 10.5" in tall in bloom and each flower is about 3"x3". My marker say Bonserm, but when I tried to look it up it's spelled 'Boonserm' most places. Would that be considered a compact? Is there a place to go to in order to find how orchids are registered?

Susan,
yes, you can look up your very pretty hybrid and see if it is spelled correctly or if it is actually registered with the RHS
http://apps.rhs.org.uk/horticu...
But since the RHS registers the hybrid only to track the parentage, it will not show the clonal name for you check. So 'Bonserm' or 'Boonserm' would require more general googling....

Yes, I am smiling when I look at that umbel. Smiling
(I grow some of my Bulbos like Cattleyas, sunny!)

And my Cym Golden Elf managed to throw out a nice little spike.

Btw this golden colored bloom should go into the question section of the Photography forum. I have trouble getting some definition in my pictures, everything is evenly yellow.

Bulbophyllum bicolor is wonderful. I'm not sure I'll have the patience to wait that many years for blooms.

My second Blc. Pratum Green 'Boonserm' is now open. The flowers are more like 4.5" when fully open. Thanks for the link Kathy. That's what I was looking for.
