Now from the cold coast, here is what I have going on over the past week in my miniscule garden. The front bed is really due for renovation. The Raphiolepis is winding down and encroaching, so time to cut it back. Same with the Bogainvilla. Bulbs are mostly finished except for one late Daffodil.

In the back, the Epis are just getting started, depending on sun. three from earlier in the week are German Empress, Good as Gold (first bloom on 3rd year cutting) and a NOID orange

And on the north side, where things are just getting started a silly dwarf oriental lily that still blooms after two years of being a forced, potted plant, and a NOID Clematis in the mostly purple garden (at this time of year)
Some Salvia, Osteopermum, and Alstromeria in the mix
Kathy, you took the words out of my mouth - looking at Jim's last installment I was also thinking Paradise! I love the Bromeliads!
Carol, very pretty!
The Epis are gorgeous. Good as Gold as surely aptly named. The Deutsche Kaiserin is always a treat! Love your collection!
My Epis are a mixed bag, some look decent after the Winter in the garage and some are a bit ratty. But I do see some buds.
Those Epis are incredible, Carol. Very, very nice..
Thanks for the nice comments, everyone. I must have come along sometime after the snake and apple incident as this paradise comes with persistent weeds.

Thanks all!
Kathy, I'm glad to hear you have lots of buds! Mine are a mixed bag this year...some loaded, some less than normal. Partly it's location, but I think this yo-yo weather has a lot to do with it too. They are tough plants though, and it looks like an extended bloom season, rather than a spectacular , but short show this year. Last week we had two wild storms with winds approaching 50mph, and surprisingly nothing came down. Whew!
We had a warm winter so everything is ahead here. I think getting the right amount of water in this transition period determines whether my buds stay on the epis. Glad you had some luck through those storms! Here are some pics of my garden today. http://forum.crazyorchidlady.c...
