I just recieved some lily bulbs from Faraway Flowers of Lakon and Robert Griesbach they are wonderful large healthy bulbs. Plus she included a new this year at the Chelsea Flower Show bulb of Christopher as a bonus. I am very excited with the shipment and can't really find information as to what type of lily Christopher is, so looking forward to seeing all of these bloom. I already have a nice variety of lilies in my garden. This was the first time I purchased from Ramona and I am sure I will buy from her again. I just happened to see that she was selling the last of this seasons bulbs on the Lily Auction and was tempted. Hurray!

Polly thank you so much for the website with all the information. Ramona did say it is an oriental lily.

If it was really 4 inches, I'd snap it up in a New York minute! Just think of what could be bred with that! Smiling

A four inch lily would seem like ground cover, Lefty. What would you want with a 4 inch lily? Hilarious!

How would you feel about a 12" OT?
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket?

It would seem like it would be all bloom and no stem. Moby, do you have one? If you think about the size of the flowers OT typically have, it would seem like an oddity, wouldn't it? Are you doing some lily hybridizing?

Quite honestly, the short ones, with the exception of 'Angelique' (the oriental) have never been super appealing to me. I tend to like the size and stature of lilies.

Christopher is about one metre which is over 3 feet. Look at the website Polly provided for information. A 4 inch lily would not appeal to me it would likely get stepped on.

I have already potted up the lily bulbs in Miracle Grow using gallon pots. I keep them under lights until it is warm enough outdoors then get them use to the outdoors. When I get time they then get planted. I have done this several times and my lilies works well for me and my zone 4 climate. It is raining today and we may have some snow next week.

"Mistress" is just a little stump of a thing, but I had to have it for the naughty garden. It has fairly large flowers for its height.
