The rains and mild winter really did wonders for the blackberries this year. I picked two gallons of these in my back yard today. I could have picked some more but I was getting a little tired bending over. Still a lot more waiting to ripen.

Those are gorgeous! We used to have an entire fence line of blackberry vines at the lake. We had a flood up there and the blackberries never came back. We used to pick them and share with our town neighbors. I'd make jam. I miss them, but don't think we'd plant again. Too many deer now to compete with.

Your blackberries look so good!! I tried to grow them here but no luck, they struggled through our long cold winters for a couple of years then died!!

I've never tried growing blackberries. These are just weeds growing in my back yard. After hurricane Rita I had a lot of debris in the back that I didn't want to mess with so I let the blackberries have that area. Now I'm reaping the reward for my laziness.

Look at those berries! Makes me want to go pickin' right now!

You are too funny! I love blackberries but mine come in a package.

We picked our first blackberries yesterday - got about 3 quarts. These were the wild ones growing in the bottomland. Our domestic berries are only now flowering.
