I think it would be nice to have under the section 'Uses': 'suitable for woodland gardens'

For the second addition; I am missing the moisture needs of a plant, which can be very important..
I'm thinking of possibilities like:

- tolerates drought or drought resistant
- average moisture needs
- never let dry out

There might be others who can suggest more and better terms for it.. Smiling

We do have under 'Uses' : suitable for 'Water gardens', but that can be confusing, there are also plants with high water demands but still don't like to be constant with their feet in the water.

Myriam, I think the existing checkbox "Suitable for xeriscaping" already covers drought-resistant plants, and perhaps we could assume that plants thriving in shade or dappled shade are suitable for woodland gardens, but I do agree that we need a category "suitable for bog gardening." I've done a lot of searching on the Web for bog plants through the years and it would be nice to mark all of them as such in our database.

With the combination of "suitable for xeriscaping" and "suitable for bog gardening" categories, we could safely assume that anything not included in either of those categories has average moisture needs.

OK Zuzu, thanks! I was not familiar with the term 'Xeriscaping' (English is not my native language) I should have looked that up Rolling my eyes. and yes, it makes sense that plants that thrive in dappled shade or shade are suitable for woodland gardens!

Glad you agree with the need for a Bog gardening category.

Really like the idea of adding bog gardening. I've hesitated in checking water gardens even though the plant needs consistently moist soil. What about plants that don't like the soil to dry out? I chuckled when you noted Xeriscaping Myriam. I didn't know what it meant either and English IS my native language. Xeric landscapes aren't as critical here in New England as in many parts of the USA.

I've added "Suitable for bog gardening" as another option under Uses!
