Now that is gorgeous.
They always call glumaceum "hay-scented", I totally disagree with that description. But a magnum with the sun shining on the pendant spikes smells to me like a sunny, freshly cut meadow which had included lots of fragrant wildflowers.

Just when I thought I could cross Dendrochilum off my list ( since I just got one) now I have to put magnum on there!
So dramatic!

This is one of about 4 they had. They were divided a year ago. I didn't see the mother plant but it must have been huge!

Very cool looking plant, it really is a beauty! I love those pendant blooms. Orchids are really amazing, I've seen so many beautiful plants on this forum, it makes me really, really want a greenhouse just for Orchids!!

I rec'd my order from Marble Branch Farms this afternoon! UPS was supposed to deliver the package yesterday but for some reason they re-routed it and it came late today. The plants were packed so carefully and really healthy looking, the extra day in transit didn't bother them at all. I ordered 3 and was so surprised ... they sent two bonus plants as well! Here's what I got:

Encyclia alata (select dark) x Rlc. Toshie Aoki Pizazz - stick mounted
Cattleytonia Flying Colors 'Mendenhall'
Encyclia phoenicea x Laelia splendida

and the 2 bonus plants are:

Cattleya Fire Magic 'Solar Flare'
CTT Carolyn Reid 'Glowing Embers'

Ok folks ... can one of you pro's tell me what CTT stands for on that last one. I know it's got something to do with Cattleya, but what else? Is it Cattleytonia like the other one I ordered?

... now if I can just keep them healthy and happy to be able to see some future blooms. Smiling

Off to "triple-Bayer" the Cattleyas, so they come inside clean.
