Tim Bell was the guest speaker at our local daylily club yesterday. He had everyone in stiches most of the time with his humble, southern humor. He auctioned off 47 plants (mostly his intros) to our club members, we got some AWESOME deals. I ended up winning two 2012 intros "Desert Wave" and "Sycamore Frills". Also won Kaanapali Coast, Sitting Queen (Petit) and Walter Kennedy (Stamile). My highest bid was $45. I actually feel kind of guilty getting his newest intros for such a low price. It was a very entertaining meeting so if he is ever the guest speaker at your club, be sure to attend!

Sounds wonderful, Sandy! You really got some great daylilies there. I wish we had a daylily group out here, but nothing anywhere near me. Region 7 does have its problems...

I had such a wonderful order from Tim Bell this year that I placed a second order too. But the only new introduction I got was CHARIOTS OF GOLD. And I did notice just yesterday that I have a couple of scapes coming up on it.

Tim is just a great guy. He is a Christian, too. We are very fortunate to have him in our AHS Region 5. He is very supportive of our region donating many plants and hours. He was co-chairman of the National when it was in Valdosta two years ago. Yes, he is quite humerous and helps to keep meetings lively! His garden is absolutely gorgeous, possibly the closest thing on this earth to Heaven. If you are ever headed south to Florida on I-75, he is just off I-75 Exit 75.

I need to get to Tim Bell's garden. We were not able to go to the convention in 2010. He sent us some big husky plants last fall.
