They are leafless orchids but sometimes grows a leaf or two. This article has it as a spring bloomer. I hope that means mine might bloom twice a year.

Kathy, those Den rigidum buds are very interesting, I like the odd shape!
I was taking some glamor shots of Copper Queen and almost fell over in shock,
the plant suddenly offered up another spike with 4 buds, seemingly overnight! Blinking

I had more bloom last year, I believe, so I'm not doing the big happy dance yet.
