Thanks! That pic is similar,Kathy, but I see they also had trouble capturing it. It is darker and more complex- the shades. Really quite gorgeous !I will try again when I have time.

Janice, pretty Cattleyas. My favorites are the left one of the Trick or Treat X and the 'Miya'. ( try ambient light?)

Jim, neat Bulbo - the straightening-out is surely an interesting process to watch. Thumbs up

The Korean fellow who sold me the miltassia told us, in very broken English, the the plant was an oncidium cross. Degamoara Skywalker 'Red Star' HCC/AOS is a hybrid between Miltassia Erachne x Odm. brevifolium and fits the bill. I have looked at the pictures and am confident that what I have here is Degarmoara Skywalker 'Red Star' HCC/AOS. I have Charles M. Fitch as well and the markings are not the same.

Janice, Lovey dubby Thumbs up Thumbs up That looks gorgeous!!
I can see that this is exactly the shade my camera also has trouble reproducing. It is that touch into violet, sometimes it is particularly difficult if the blooms have that fluorescent sparkle.

Wonderful color and subtleties, Janice. How did you get it accurate in the end?

Look who followed me home from the opera today! Blc. George King 'Southern Cross.' Bought it before the show at my little plant store in town and sold opera tickets with it adorning the table. I have a tiny plant of this but was so happy to find a blooming size locally from Roger West. http://cubits.org/orchids/thre... This is the best I could do for color at night. Tomorrow it will look warmer yellow.
