Something has been digging around my yard - in broad daylight. I can't figure out what it is, as I never see it happen. The pictures below show what happened at midday today. I went in/out my front door several times this morning, so I am positive it was midday. Would a squirrel do this? A snake? A bird such as a blue jay or brown thrasher? There are no cats and very few dogs in my neighborhood. All of the dogs here are walked on leashes. I know armadillos will dig and tear up a yard, but not in the daytime, right?

I was sitting right on the other side of the wall and heard/saw nothing. What the heck?!

Looks like a bird might have gone through looking for grubs, etc. The Grackles and Blue Jays will do that up here...

yeah, bird or squirrel are both good possibilities.

Usually, the squirrels leave little holes where dug up their winter stash.

It's most often squirrels that dig that way in my garden, Carol. The hose scares them away really well . .
