Actually, it's probably a Red Canadian Chokecherry. I have one in my back yard. Smells wonderful. Mine hasn't started opening the flower blossoms yet. Extremely common tree for colder environments as they're good to zone 3.

They do look very similar Toni! It's difficult finding a good photo of one when the leaves are green, most don't appear when a link is opened. The leaves turn purple ..

The habit looks less rounded and more upright but the tree in question might have been trained to grow that way. Then of course you have to wonder if the photos are correctly named.

Prunus padus does have this shape..
