Thread OP

First, let me just say there is obviously a LOT of knowledge on this forum, I'm quite impressed. This brings me to my second part:

I have a lot of plants that need ID'ing. As in, like seventy. I will be upfront about my purpose; I have a botany class and this is a requirement for the course. I only have a few weeks to do this in, and I simply do not have the time available to both collect and ID every one of them myself. The field manual we have been using is actually available for free online, so anyone who is interested in helping would have access to our class reference.

I am aware this is no small request. I would even be willing to set up some kind of paypal thing in order to compensate people for their time if they were so inclined. Life has simply gotten in the way this semester, and I do not foresee being able to get this done on my own.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Welcome! Magus.

I'll do my best to help you, are you going to post the photos here?

Don't worry if I don't reply for a while, it's nearly 2am here.

Thread OP

I will likely make a tumbr or something housing pictures of them and just link it, unless the forum prefers for me to post them here for posterity. I would be posting them as I collect them, so probably something in the area of 10-15 a day, so I wouldn't want to step on any toes by deluging you guys in North Texas flora without a thumbs up.

I have no idea what a tumbr is, but I think it would be better if you could post the photos here, starting a new thread for each plant.

I would prefer you post the photos here too, I'm not in north Texas but can help. It is helpful to put your location in your profile, that helps a great deal with finding a plant.

Did you mean Tumblr?

As Zuzu said, we prefer to have a thread for each plant here then there's no confusion. In return for our help I think all we require is that we can add any identified plant to the database here. We work for free. Smiling

Janet, I had assumed "tumbr" was a typo, but the only alternative I could think of was "tumor," and I felt certain that couldn't be it. Hilarious!

I agree with Zuzu and Janet. Uploading the photos here would then allow us to add them to the DB once they're identified. Thumbs up
