I've enjoyed the photos. Drats on Leodogran, Kathy! Maybe next year. The NOID from you is definitely spiking. Very weird looking though. One is elongating in an odd, narrow shape and the other is stalling and will maybe abort. The later is really squished between two pbs. It looks like it wants to be pendant and small flowered. Maybe you'll recall what it is? In re: the Maxillarias, I used to pot them in fine bark but pot them in loose sphag, in open baskets, topped with live moss now. I repot them often...like yearly 'cause they are fussy about stale medium. You can see them decline rapidly when the medium looks packed or soggy.
Ursula, I went to the botanical garden today and checked out their blooming Dendrochilum javieri. Theirs is no larger than mine but the leaves look more mature; thicker, wider and taller. I think I have a substantial, but young specimen. Maybe it will flower this year but maybe (probably) not.
