Oh nice. I can't seem to grow Phaius for any length of time. Crying

About cyms, you are right Lindsey, they are the movie star orchids! Careful spacing and repetitive patterns make them so photogenic.

They cheer me up so I wanted them on both threads! So Bree, are you coming into a more active bloom time now? Seems like you have blooms all year! My summers are relatively quiet.

Great start to the March thread. My eye is drawn to the Lc mem. Robert Strait.

My Cattleya maxima is putting on a nice display. Here are a few pics taken over the last couple of days.

Jim, looking great! I love the C maxima and the Lc Gold Digger. And I am glad the Lyonara opens so nicely for you. I love the color.
If I may throw in some concern here? I am not happy with the leaf on the L tenebrosa x. I would perhaps isolate the plant, unless you know of a very good possible reason for the circular pattern? (exposure to cold rain drops on a very young leaf, "bug bites", something like that.....)
Very pretty, Bree!
Kathy, I have to talk to my Dendrochilum wenzelii....But then, it is always the last of the Dendrochilums to bloom for me.

Great to finally see Lc. Gold Digger since I have several xs of it.
Hope your L. tenebrosa X Blc Chinese Bronce 'Marco Polo' is virus free, Jim. That's surely a beauty.

How did I miss this story about the whirlpool tub? I have a couple of orchids that spent the night on the bottom of my swimming pool. They are doing fine 2 years later.

Ursula, are you leaning toward Cercospora sp. So was I but I see no spotting on the under side of the leaf so now I'm thinking nutritional deficiency. I'd appreciate any thoughts.

Jim
