Ok, so I stumbled upon the Amarylis post. Yeah, I like it, so here's one of two that I have. I inhereted it from my mom. Foto's shown here are of the "Mother Bulb". I call this one "A Study of Amarylis"Thumb of 2011-03-28/adphoto/45e7d5

Thanks, Albert!!! Even more red!! Love it. Lovey dubby

We have a houseplant thread here, too. I will help you navigate, it takes a while to find things! It is in the What Else Do You Grow? forum. http://cubits.org/orchids/foru... That's where we put our garden pics and our houseplant pics. Here's the houseplant thread at the moment. http://cubits.org/orchids/thre...
Best way to find things is hit the Forums link on the right side box and go into each one to see what is there.

Hi Albert, That 1st picture in 'Study' is great! Sort of looks like Seguaro cactus on a Martian plain.

Ah, Sphagnum! Or as we call it affectionally "The Orchid-undertaker's favorite tool".
Even a Neofinetia falcata picked up at the SEPOS had rotten roots under the Sphagnum.... Thumbs down There were good roots above the Sphag or I wouldn't have bought it. I repotted ASAP.
That stuff keeps Orchids moist in transit and many people like it for that same reason - less to water. But, if one waters plenty, the roots go south quickly.
