Last year I took pictures of SDB's from above or with me bending over. This year I'm getting down on the ground [lawn] and taking pictures from the side at their level....I like them better from the side even though my getting up and down is quite a vision of clumsiness.

Paul as always great pictures. I love the median iris and I take several ways but getting down and dirty seems the best, but this year due to the surgery can not get down easy so learning a different way for this year, but watch out next year.....LOL

Dee....I use one of those kneeling stools upside down. It helps me get down but really helps in getting up.

For those with an addiction to taking pics of Iris there are a number of cameras with tilting and/or swiveling LCD screens. They tend to be more expensive but a lot less contortion is required.

Thankfully my camera has all the tilts to it, so put on Macro and Telephoto and getting good pictures
I have them all my problem if I have the brace on can not use the stools easily and move them about but this is working just finished taking about 200 pictures of medians this morning, in a moment going to go out to seedling bed and see if any I want to line out

Sure enjoyed seeing your SDB's, Paul, especially Gingerbread Trim. It's on my next year's list for sure.
