I agree with Bev! Your garden is so serene and well kept. Wish mine looked more like it. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I think that if ever a mortal heard the voice of God it would be in a garden at the cool of the day. ~F. Frankfort Moore, A Garden of Peace

Joanne, thanks for visiting my garden. Glad you liked my photos. Photography is a hobby I started when we got a digital camera a few years ago.

Beautiful garden with the space and a lot of potential. Wonderful photographs, love the bird ones though. Seem quite tame posing like that but I don't see the clutter of children or daily living. That slope would look better with terraces but don't disturb the soil. It seems the rocks are holding the slope in position.
Regards,
Arif.

Thank you Arif! I tip my hat to you.

The garden reflects my personality, I like things orderly and uncluttered. I am a great-grandmother and the kids live in a different province so we don't get to see them too often. We are pet free, decided not to get another after our old dog passed 6 years ago. I like the park look of the yard which my neighbor described as "a peaceful green oasis". The slope will remain as is, too much work for my DH and I to terrace and would cost many dollars to have it done by pros.

Most welcome Margaret. Do bamboos survive their? If they do then these things we use to reclaim land. They act as a sieve when it rains, water can get through but the soil cannot. Soil settles down behind the bamboos and the level is gradually raised. New shoots grow from the new level so nothing happens to the bamboo as long as you keep harvesting the mature canes. These canes should have good sale value. Just an idea, if it does not detract from your garden beauty no harm and they are very frost resistant.
Regards,
Arif.

Arif, that hillside is very steep with sandy soil, full of rocks and boulders, I doubt very much that bamboo would grow here, also I would worry about planting something that could be invasive.

Bamboo invasive? Construction industry bamboo? Ok, I understand. People give me ideas also but I am sometimes not up to it but bamboo is a cash crop with great utility. Pines and Cedars also love slopes and are a marketable commodity. It is a shame to let prime land like that lie fallow. I tip my hat to you.

Arif.
