Ascocentrum curvifolium is blooming this month, actually a couple of weeks early, I think.

and so is one of my favorites - Darwinara Walnut Valley x Ascda Blue Sky
The color will deepen a bit as the blooms mature.

thats cool kathy. i ll find out what is the difference in a zygopetalum and a zygonaria because they look the same.
A zygonaria is a cross between a zygopetalum and a Neogardineria (anyone know what this last one is?) mine does look like Zygoneria Adelaide Meadows which is a Australian hybrid i think.

I bought this as Masd. Redwing, but not as red as you would think from the name. It opened a few days ago, I'm hopeful the bottom petals will seperate more.

Bill, what a dramatic bloom on the Masd Redwing, it does look like a pink stork of sorts? Very nice!

Speaking of long stems, my Laelia Seagulls Tangerine 'SVO' HCC/AOS x L. milleri 'Dr. Koopowitz Red' HCC/AOS is finally open. I would consider it a mini except for the long stem. Here is the first bud opening.
