Hello, to my friends here.

I wish I had more time to read and post on all the interesting threads here. My 90 yr old father has had a stroke so I know that my time will be even shorter now. He is stable now is in therapy for his walking. We are getting prepared to bring him home.

I hope everyone is having a great season. I have had a late freeze and cut several hosta and daylily leaves :(

The iris are not as nice as normal either. This has been a strange Spring. I have plants coming in and excited about the upcoming blooms!

Guacamole is also a favorite. I am growing about 50 types of hosta. They are great for the shady areas. DLs for sun of course!

I will keep y'all in my thoughts and prayers and wish you the best.

Yes you can post more than one photo at a time. I'm not sure if there's a limit but I've done I think 32 in one post.

Teresa,
I'm so sorry about your dad. You've had your hands too full of health and family issues as it is. Will keep ya'll in my prayers.

I'm coming up your way in July. I sure hope we can get together. Are you going to David's?

Teresa, You and your family are in my prayers. Hoping for the best.

Your irises are pretty. Mine are doing pretty good so far. Some didn't like the frost we had.

Thanks everyone, Leslie, let me know the day or weekend you will be there. I would love to make a trip up to there. I have been home today and it feels good to be out and working in the garden. I am working on digging lots of Big Blue monkey grass, Stellas and a few other dls for my parent"s church. They wanted some landscape items so I am donating a tote full.

I appreciate all the good wishes, gardening friends are the best. Fred it was so nice to meet you and your wife in person. I enjoy meeting people that I have posted with on the internet. It seem like we are love to gab about our gardens.

My son was here this weekend and has hauled and unloaded, 2 truckloads of western mix for my new flower bed. It is a combo of topsoil, leaf compost, pine fines and sand. It looks great!
What a great early Mother's Day gift!

Hello, just posting a update. Dad is in a step down wing of the hospital. My sisters and I are still staying 24/7 with him or at night with Mom. Hopefully, he can go home this week. He is up using his walker now. I may need to plant some flowers at their place since I will be spending so much time there now. We do have a veggie garden there.
Thanks Rita, yes it is a odd color for a flower but unique. I hope everyone has a great growing season this year.

Teresa, I missed this thread initially (I was in Arkansas with my ex father in law, who I kept in the divorce) Burl will be 90 at Christmastime, so I know what you mean about these older family members. Enjoy your time with him though.

And yes, I think planting some flowers at your Mom;s is an excellent idea.

Best to you and yours ~Jan

Teresa so glad your dad is in the step down program now. Hope he can recover enough to be comfortable at home and you all can relax a bit. So So sorry this has happened. It is so hard when our parents fail for one reason or another.
