That's where it is now. I moved it to more sun in spring. I'll take a good look today....

Nothing new.... Whistling

Took a few pics. My Den glomerata (sulawesiense) has looked sick for a year in its tiny terracotta pot. It has yellow spots on leaves, sometimes turning pink. Just a mess. I decided it wasn't virus and kept it. Last week I noticed a bunch of big pale pale fat pink buds and now they opened, all pink and orange.

Paph Lynleigh Koopowitz is so beautiful that I took her outside for a shoot. It was a bit windy but she is such a star that the pics came out fine. Here she is posing between wind gusts. I have not bloomed many of my paphs Grumbling , but Lynleigh more than makes up for that. I hope she stays like this as long as the bud took to open.

Well, L. Pacavia's flowers are getting droopy. I will miss that one for sure. All the dreamy scent too. But L. purpurata v. carnea is consoling me.

Kathy, the Paph Lynleigh Koopowitz is beautiful! And nice shots too! The Den glomeratum is a nice large plant, perhaps the leaf situation will improve outside this Summer.

Speaking of Summer, ALL my plants are outside. I did a bit of a marathon run up and down the steps the last couple of days, our air-condition control box broke down this week and will not be fixed until perhaps Tuesday. Normally I use the air conditioner in the greenhouse exactly on those switch-over hot days in Spring ( and sometimes in Fall) when most Orchids are still inside or I am in the process of moving them out. 95 degr F was a bit hot for the Gouramies and the plants. The Fish went out on Friday morning, they are breeding!! I saw 4 bubble nests this morning!
I will post more of the cage-insides, but here are some starts.
The Mexipedium xerophyticum opened yesterday! Smiling So pretty!

Lc Jungle Eyes blooms already on a tiny plant. It smells really nice, and seems to flower certainly easier than its aclandiae parent.

Cattleya luteola is blooming right on schedule. This is another nice and small little Catt.

As they say - more later. We are going to Waterford Garden in a while to pick up the Waterlilies for the pond!

Wow! Great blooms on the luteola. I rarely get more than one or two on mine. It is always such a joy! My aclandiae refuses to bloom. Maybe I should consider a hybrid, too. But the 'Iguassu' name on one of the parents of mine keeps me loyal. I've always been in awe of Iguassu Falls in Argentina, ever since my sister sent pics when she lived in Buenos Aires in the late 60s.

The Mexipedium rocks! My bud is so little. Can't wait. It's in low light. Maybe I should move it to more.....

Congrats on the fishie babes to come!!!!!! Hurray!

BTW, I thought I bought a mini pink waterlily online but they didn't send it from Texas and don't answer my emails. Uh-oh! Happy shopping Ursula. Can't wait to see. Do you buy more each year? Do you buy hardies that winter over? Or tropicals each year? My hardy white mini is outside in it's 'pond' and sending out leafies!! No show so far on the yellow lotus. I wintered them over in a cold area (the storage room at the bottom of D's barn if you remember) wrapped in wet burlap and inside a black plastic bag. The burlap sure was disgustingly moldy when I took it out. Seems to have worked for the waterlily though.

I seem to be stressed about moving the orchids and keeping up with the garden and had some nightmares last night that woke me up at 4. The big garden tours start 6/10 and continue through the 19th. I figured my belly or back were hurting. I only have nightmares when my body hurts! Hilarious! I do have an awful lot to do for one person..... Blinking

Wonderful bloomers, Ursula. You're killing me with the beautiful paphs.

I saw Iguassu falls when I was working in Paraguay. It is indeed a natural wonder of the world and I'll never forget it.

I really relate, Kathy, when you say you have a lot to do for one person. It just never ends. I got through the big garden tour and now the church choir is coming for their end of season party. Weeds just never stop and I have some sort of root rot wiping out one of the gardens in front of the house. No cure for that except find plants that can tollerate it. I've lost a ton of plumbago and my big hibiscus just bit the dust.

I bought Slc. Ploenpit Fantasy in spike while in Apopka with Laurel. It just opened.

Cute Slc, Jim.
We saw the Falls at Iguazu from the Brazilian site, it was awesome. But, aside from the amazing waterfalls, the vegetation is most interesting, with Orchids literally dripping off the trees, the sites lined with Begonias and Tillandsias growing on power lines.

Bree, I can just conjure up the wonderful scent of the 'Serendipity' by looking at your pretty blooms. I am looking forwards to mine blooming.

Kathy, yes, I do consider myself lucky having seen that. Would you believe, the very first time we toured the falls we got so excited by the incredible vegetation that we saw very little of the falls. Klaus and I took an extra walk on our own that afternoon to actually see the Falls.

Coming back to the Waterlilies and Waterford Gardens - I posted a group of pictures here

Hope you enjoy!

Beautiful pics on that thread, Kathy and Ursula. What a treat!

The big Grammatophylum scriptum, now hanging from a palm tree out in the garden, is beginning to bloom. I count 5 spikes, each 24 to 30 inches long. Not a record but not bad either. I'll be so happy to get the orchids back on the lanai where I can take care of them.

Jim
