I thought of Leslie yesterday when I saw this beautiful poly bloom on Manchu Lantern at The Kendig's garden. It was at least 7" across.

Is this trying to be a poly, or is something else going on? I saw a picture of it as a poly on Linda Agin's website, but this is pretty strange and I only saw three sepals. And at one side end of that extra petal, curled underneath, was the attached 6th stamen...

Synaptic is gorgeous! I had seen it earlier somewhere else, and looked it up on the hybridizer's site. The color is really different than what is in your picture. Is your picture accurate on the color? I really love it!

Hi Natalie, yes it's Synaptic still with Paul's reg tag on it. The poly pic was taken around 6:30 am.

Here it is on the 31st at 8:00 am.

I'm really curious about the color though. It looks like the one on his site, but the color is totally different. So many hybridizers post pictures that don't really match the true color, though I'm not saying that this is the case here. Both are stunning, but I'd love to know which one is more accurate! I know that most of my pictures don't turn out even close to what the flower looks like, but I'm lousy at taking pictures!
