Great amaryllis, Jim. I have that one too, but it didn't bloom this year. (maybe because my garden 'helper' yanked off all its leaves while he was weeding - argh)

Love those blue iris, such an elegant flower.

I am obsessed with this Canna - amazing leaves, and if it is the one I'm thinking, it will have orange flowers - a side show to the leaves imho. My daughter has one like this in her garden in Salt Lake City, and when I bought it for her it was named 'Durban' but this one is called 'Tropicanna'.

Gorgeous color, Elaine. I remember having that one but can't remember what happened to it.

Finally an update on the dreaded Amorphophallus. The pretty white and green skin is peeling back revealing the red cabbage, aka hideous monster brain. It's about as gross a thing as you will want to see today. You may also notice some of the beautiful foliage beginning to emerge.

Wow, Jim! Big stinky has a beauty, though, I'd say! It is very amazing indeed!! Does it multiply?

It is a shrub rose, 5 ft tall.

That's an outstanding flower for a shrub rose. Very nice.

Yes, it multiplies. It was a couple of years before I got a bloom. Then a couple more before I got two blooms. This year it looks like I may have five blooms. If it keeps going, it may end life as we know it. Rolling on the floor laughing

Walk away and this new thread is totally in full gear already! Lovey dubby
I love the Curcuma! And a Bird of Paradise!!

Janice, very pretty! Lovey dubby

Amorphophallus stink, but to me they are so interesting, they more than make up for it. This one is simply "way cool"!! Thumbs up

My Bletilla striata border has really spread forwards, so much that I actually pulled out the Iris in front of them to give the Betillas more room. I find it difficult to get good pictures, since I don't have room to lay on the ground to shoot upwards, but here they are. The albas have a pretty white stripe on the leaves.
Btw the plants closest to the house wall were about 2 weeks early this year, I had to cover them a couple of times at night to protect from frost.

And the Columbines are blooming, in the cage ( where the seeds had blown ) and against the house wall on the east side. And yes, if you notice some wrong leaves here, I have LOTS of blooming Buttercup, carried in from our place in Pennsy....

What a nice batch of Bletilla, and I love that color combo with the columbine.
Janice, your garden looks to be in full swing! Mine is struggling with not enough
rain and some enthusiastic verbena volunteers . I also am getting a fairly long
to do list regarding my Iris...when is a good time to dig and divide them? Do
you wait until the Fall?

They say to wait till July to divide Iris.

But I have done it year round, whenever I felt like it, because I like to experiment. Tsk! tsk, tsk!

I have not lost any Iris doing that. Smiling

Yes, Lindsey, we also are getting way too dry and need to set up the watering system. I miss my old irrigation....
