I agree, and it's been that way for the past few years. I hate to do massive annuals, but I may just to get the color.

Moby, beautiful blooms. Wonder why your Martagons are so far ahead of mine? Mine are only about 6" tall and no buds yet. Mount Negro is my first lily to bloom. I'm worried about all the early blooms too and have planted some containers of celosia and marigolds. Got the seeds from your FIL. Saw his last fall when I was out walking and didn't have much color left in my yard and he gave me enough seeds to last a lifetime. I have been pinching back my mums and heleniums because buds were already forming.

Susan ~ yep, ya gotta love Earl and his marigolds. I too have enough seeds to last a life time. nodding

The first marty was Claude Shride, the next is a seedling and looks very similar but is about half the size of CS. The orange is Aspen Gold.

My first lily has popped. It's a patio or pot lily that is peach colored. Yay!!! I've had it and another lily the same size for probably 10 or 15 years.

Normally, we can hardly wait for lily season to start but this year I'm almost a little sad ~ too soon! Then it will be over much too early. I even have OTs that are stretching out their bud clusters and it won't be long for them.

Mags ~ even your 'Darkling' is going to pop tomorrow. Blinking

Wow you are early! I am just seeing buds form now. Some of the earlier ones are of course further advanced in budding but honestly, what has me the most confused is my blueberry bushes will have berries ready, from the looks of things, in two weeks or so. I had some really good pollination this year and it looks like it will be my best crop ever. I work really hard on maintaining a low acidity there. I am happy to have a few handfuls of berries really. But usually they are late July and August. We'll see what actually comes of it.

Lilies are looking great Moby!
