Do we have a feedback here like we did over on DG?

We do not, but I expect that it won't be long before we'll want it.

I dunno, seems to me like feedback is sort of an ongoing process! Smiling

Hmmm, I sort of thought that was the purpose of the site talk forum, but hey, whatever makes the most people happy!

Seems we're all on different pages. I was thinking in terms of feedback on venders, products, that sort of thing. Woofie seems to be talking about feedback on ATP itself.

What's everybody else talking about?

Oh, good point, Karen! Guess it would help to specify what type of feedback we're talking about! I'd love to see maybe a forum on vendors? And a separate thread for each vendor? Or something like that.

I'm thinking about seed and plant trading right now, in light of the recently launched Plant Lists feature. So I assumed that stetchworth was asking about a way to give feedback about trades with other members. That's what I was saying that eventually we'll probably want.

As for feedback about companies, as for specific feedback and negative reviews and things like that, I don't think I want to do that. But we are planning a "Recommendations" feature where you can give recommendations (along with reviews) about your favorite gardening companies and products.

Aw, Dave, do you really think we'd ever say something mean about a vendor? Hilarious! "Recommendations" would be great, tho!

Dave, your right that is what I was talking about, like we had on DG when you do trades with other members.

I'd much rather give negative feedback about vendors than other ATP traders. I've seen some rather unkind things said about traders. That's a feature I could do without. Even if a poor rating is deserved, it can lead to hard feelings.

OTOH, venders have a responsibility to make good on sales. I don't feel bad about posting poor ratings on them. Smiling

I agree

I think if we just go with what Trish and Dave have been doing, write-ups on good experiences, we should be able to find reputable companies to do business with.

I agree. But adding a place for all members to give recommendations and show pictures of plants received would be nice, too. Even if negative reviews were omitted.

There are threads like that scattered about on different forums now. It would be nicer to have them all in one spot and easy to find. e.g:

A few days ago I was considering ordering from Sequim Rare Plants. I searched and got 4 hits-
http://garden.org/search/index...
2 nice concise blog posts from zuzu and chelle. The other 2 were forum threads of 20 pages and 15 pages, respectively. Who wants to read 20 pages of chat on a thread to find one post? Not me. Again, recommendations together in one forum, a new thread for each new recommendation, would be very helpful.

I posted a recommendation for Garden Harvest Supply recently, complete with pictures. But I have no idea what forum it's in.

I agree. As much as I like Trish's reviews, we need to remember that those companies KNOW that she is reviewing them....I have to wonder just how much extra special care goes into those orders than what would be for everyone else.

There does need to be a pace for reviews of companies from regular customers. But then again, if negative reviews were omitted, there's no point doing it at all because it would be biased.

I don't know, Lee Anne. If I search 2 companies and one has 10 recommendations, and another has no recommendations... not perfect, but it says something.

And, I think posting photos of plants received says a lot too, without any words at all.

This is what we have done in the hardy succulent forum.
The thread "Nursery: Youngs Garden Center" in Sempervivum forum
The thread "Nursery: Perennial Obsession" in Sempervivum forum
The thread "Nursery: North Hills Nursery" in Sempervivum forum

All are family owned nurseries that do a great job of shipping and providing healthy plants, ready to grow when planted.

I only have my reference thread as a sticky.

Can't wait to see what you and Dave come up with Trish. I know it will be amazing.
