If there is a thread on this, I couldn't find it so hopefully I am not duplicating another thread.

I know about Schreiners, Blue J and Napa Country but who else should I look at?

I plan to bring in some additional colors if I don't find what I'm looking for locally.

Thanks,
Julia

I have purchased Iris from Schreiners, and also Keith Keppel - have been thrilled with both. If I remember correctly, Keppel requests $3 and will send you a catalog to order from (refundable). Again, I was extremely pleased with both sources ~Jan

Winterberry Gardens in VA they have many reblooming irises & note the Ag. zone where they have fall bloomed. The web site is just their intros but a catalog is $5.

Our moderator, Snow Peak!!! Best irises I've ever received and great bonuses, too.

Superstition if you want the oldies but goodies. You can always expect their historics to be true to name. You need to order the catalogue. Kinda confusing at first, but wonderful irises. You order the print catalogue, and then peruse the pics that go with it, which are here:

Here is the link for Mid-America Garden.

And Sutton's specializes in rebloomers.

And Rockytop Gardens

Another hybridizer is Joe Ghio, and like Keith you would need to email him and probably send a $3 check to get his catalog:

And here is Keith Keppel's website address:

Happy hunting!

Thank you all for posting your suggestions. If there is anymore, I'd like to hear about them but these are an excellent start.

The first place I ever bought irises on line was Wild Iris Rows.

http://www.wildirisrows.com/te...

They had a good selection and low prices, and when I received my order for 20 rhizomes I was amazed to find more than 50 in the shipping box. They sent multiples of most of the cultivars I had ordered, two or three sizable rhizomes of each, neatly rubber-banded together, and lots of bonus irises too.

I got the prettiest iris catalog in the mail today. Unfortunately, it was from Spring Hill. Crying

I like "Stoney Creek Iris" in PA. The irises are acclimated to my environment and should do well for you as well.

None from Spring Valley, Polly. Not worth it even with the $25 off coupon, but I did put some of the names on my list. Smiling

I actually bought a beautiful assortment many years ago from either Spring Hill or Michigan Bulb, and the irises are still growing and blooming beautifully, but the quality of both of those nurseries has taken a steep dive since then.

It's really too bad. Some of my very first plants came from Wayside, 24 years ago, and I still have them. I remember the hellebore I bought from them, it was huge when it came.

Wayside used to be the best source for roses. They sent out a big thick catalog each year, filled with every class of roses. I still have all of the roses I bought from Wayside. They were even good when they put them on rock-bottom sale at the end of the season. Amazing how much some places can change. Crying

I have used many of those listed above with good results. I also have had very good results from Iris 4 U in Colorado. http://www.iris4u.com/index.ht...

I ordered from them about two years ago, and Hugh Stout sent beautiful rhizomes. I do recommend them! And they also sell daylilies too.

I thought to bump this up and see if there is any other recommended vendors. I did order from Snowpeak and Stout Gardens and a third vendor never got back to me.
Now I know there is suppose to be a way to keep this thread tagged or starred for my future reference so I don't have to go hunting for it next time. Help? *Blush*
