The one here was big too and was planted several years ago. Came through all previous winters just fine. Although we had prolonged cold spells last winter, the temp didn't go any lower than previous winters. No other plants lost, just the daphne. Given that daphnes are fond of doing that sort of thing I knew it might happen eventually, but it had been doing so well.
