Earlier when I saw the seed heads for this plant, I could not imagine how I was going to harvest the seeds. They looked and felt hard, so I left them alone. Today, as I was looking for birds back in our prairie to be, I noticed some little ones enjoyed these coneflowers. I look closely... aah! there's the seeds. I took some, but also kept some out there for any other birds that might come by.
