I sprouted some years ago by sticking them on moist paper towel which I folded over and wrapped in plastic wrap and set it on a window sill. Worked pretty well! Don't remember how long it took to germinate though. I ended up with 10 plants and some bloomed the first year!

FYI - these guys do not mind at all being dug up and moved around even when mature .. they have fairly shallow roots and don't even blink.
