And in the end...a happy beginning!
I helped beta test the Garden Planting Calendar Charter ATP Member Garden Sages Hosted a Not-A-Raffle-Raffle I sent a postcard to Randy! I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database!

I love this feature, Trish! I'll be looking forward to this each Sunday. Good going!

Now as for shoes(?) Welp, I tend to shy away from shoes whenever possible. As I've often said I have a fear of heights and shoes put me too far off the ground.
However, I had to "fabricate" one (a shoe, that is) some years ago. Perhaps Dave may remember this recollection, from the year 2001...

"...am dog tired and sore today...spent most of yesterday tilling other people's gardens for them. On the way home I was tired, dirty, and thirsty so I pulled into a 'quick stop' type of store. Although I hadn't heard the following words in years they were certainly still carrying some authority.

'Hey buddy! NO SHOES, NO SERVICE! OUT!!'

Yep. I usually try to keep some shoes in the truck so I went out to get them but alas, nothing! I searched in the back, under tools, in the tool box. Nothing. Oh well, headed on home. Two miles later I saw another Quick Stop and decided to pull in there. After all, it was a 10 mile ride home and I wanted to go the back roads and relax a bit b4 dealing w/chores that were waiting on me.

In the back parking lot I looked and looked in the truck again...in the back, under equipment, then under the seat. Success, sort of. I found the better part of a flip-flop that the dog had decided not to eat all of, but
only one. Looking everywhere my head started thinking. Although my wife probably hasn't ridden in that truck for over 5 yrs I found, in the glove box, something called a Femi-nine Napkin...(Opening it up I saw there weren't really nine of 'em in there, only one.) Voila!

With my one half-eaten flipflop on one foot, and my other foot bandaged up in the 'napkin' and secured with a bit of duct tape I went into my best gimp, put on a grimace of pain and walked in the door, grunting a bit every second step. Not only did I make it all the way in this time but purchased my snack, my 'soda', and the counterman even let me slide for 15 cents so I could get a pack of Goody powders for my pain!

Ah yes, the perfect ending to a long day. (Soon as I pulled in the driveway you could hear that musical sound of 'Spsshhh...' as I opened my soda!) Ah yes, life is good."
....

So ya see, even a dedicated barefooter will attach something to his feet when the need declares!
Best!
